Overview

This page outlines how to request deletion of your DMV Driving account and the personal data associated with it. The process follows the guidelines required by Google Play and global data protection regulations.

How to request deletion

Follow the steps below to submit an account deletion request:

  1. Open the DMV Driving app and navigate to Profile > Account Settings > Delete Account.
  2. Review the summary of data that will be deleted. Confirm the request inside the app.
  3. If you no longer have access to the app, email us using the link below and include the email address associated with your DMV Driving account and the platform you use (Android or iOS).
Request deletion via email

We respond to all verified requests within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements noted below.

What happens after you request deletion

Once we receive a valid request, we will:

  • Verify your identity using the account email address or in-app authentication.
  • Deactivate access to your account while we finalize deletion.
  • Remove the data categories listed below from our production systems and analytics tools.
  • Send a confirmation email once the process is complete.

Data removed vs. retained

Deleted within 30 days

  • Account profile (name, email, chosen state and vehicle type)
  • Practice history, streak progress, scores, and saved questions
  • In-app preferences, notification settings, and synced guidebook downloads
  • Advertising identifiers linked to your account
  • Support conversations hosted inside the DMV Driving app

Retained temporarily

  • Transaction receipts and subscription records (kept up to 7 years to comply with tax and audit laws)
  • Security logs and fraud-prevention signals (kept for 90 days)
  • Aggregated analytics that no longer identify you individually

Retained data is isolated from active systems and automatically purged once the legal retention window closes.
